The Development Pod helps employers in construction, trades, and facilities management get the most from young workers — through structured 12-week cohort programmes that build confidence, communication, and professional skills.
Most retention problems aren't about technical skills. They're about readiness for the realities of a working environment.
Most young workers who leave in the first 90 days don't leave because of technical skills. They leave because they don't feel confident, connected, or capable in a workplace environment.
Replacing a single entry-level worker costs an average of 30–50% of their annual salary. A programme that helps people stay pays for itself within months.
Without structured support, new hires take 6–12 months to reach full productivity. The Workplace Readiness programme compresses that timeline significantly.
A 12-week cohort programme for young workers entering employment in construction, trades, facilities management, and professional services.
You tell us about your team, your sector, and what good looks like. We tailor the programme around your context.
Groups of 8–15 young workers go through the programme as a cohort — building skills and peer relationships at the same time.
After 12 weeks, you have a more confident, communicative, and resilient team. We measure outcomes and report back to you.

We're committed to making trades and construction more accessible for young women. The Workplace Readiness programme is designed with non-traditional career pathways in mind — building confidence alongside professional skills.
The Development Pod was founded by Eileen Meehan and Lois Cole — two senior L&D professionals with careers spanning Samsung, Emirates, Innovo Group, and global HR leadership.
We've designed and delivered learning programmes across the UAE, Egypt, and Ireland. We built The Development Pod because we kept seeing the same gap: young workers who were technically capable but unprepared for the professional realities of the workplace.
We're here to close that gap.
The Development Pod is an approved provider on the Positive2Work Skillnet Dynamic Purchasing System. This means your organisation may be eligible for subsidised funding — reducing programme costs by up to 50%.
